Prospective Students & Guests

Thank you for your interest in Cinema Studies at the University of Oregon!

Prospective Undergraduate Students

Interested in learning more/visiting the Department of Cinema Studies? Please fill out the Cinema Studies Campus Visit Request Form to schedule your visit. Upon receipt of your request, the student services assistant director or another representative from the department will be in contact with you within 1-2 business days to provide further information about your request. Should you have any questions, please contact the student services assistant director via email at CINEadvising@uoregon.edu or phone at (541) 346-8104. If given proper notice and pending scheduling availability, a visit with the Department of Cinema Studies will consist of:

  • Meeting with the Student Services Assistant Director (who serves as the advisor for the department) to discuss Cinema Studies major curriculum
  • Sitting in on a Cinema Studies major class (specific to the prospective student pending faculty approval)

In order to be able to provide the most robust campus visit experience for you, we will need at least three weeks' notification of an upcoming visit. We will do our best to accommodate time-sensitive requests; however, please be advised that class visits are accessible Monday through Thursday (pending faculty approval), with individual appointments available Monday through Friday.

It is important to note that the visit with Cinema Studies will be specific to the Department of Cinema Studies. Should you be interested in a full campus tour, you will need to schedule a campus tour (scroll down to the “Schedule Your Tour” button to set up your tour for the University of Oregon).

A representative from the Department of Cinema Studies participates in IntroDUCKtion (mid-year and summer orientation), and Week of Welcome (WOW). Prospective and incoming students are also encouraged to attend these campus-wide events.
