Prospective Students & Parents

Thanks for your interest in Cinema Studies at the University of Oregon!

Prospective Undergraduate Students

Prospective students are welcome to visit the Cinema Studies lab located on the second floor of Knight Library or visit the Cinema Studies office in 201 McKenzie Hall.  If you would like to sit in on one of our classes and/or speak with a Cinema Studies advisor, please make arrangements at least three weeks before your visit by contacting the Cinema Studies office at cineadvising@uoregon.edu, or by calling (541) 346-8104. Class visits and/or individual appointments are not available every day.

The Cinema Studies Program participates in Duck Preview and Duck Days. Prospective students are also encouraged to attend these campus-wide events.

How to Declare the Major

Incoming freshmen or transfer students

Indicate on your application to the University that you want to major in Cinema Studies. The Office of Admissions will declare you as a major. There is no separate application to the program. If you have already been admitted under a different major and wish to change to Cinema Studies before attending orientation, contact the Office of Admissions.
