We were so excited to hear from CINE alum Hanna Mason, BA ’21! @channamason is the Operations Manager with BendFilm and is busy preparing for the 19th annual BendFilm Festival. 

“There are so many different jobs in the cinema world. At BendFilm, we own and operate the tiny, independent Tin Pan Theater and do year-round programming, community events, and a huge festival every October. It takes a lot of people to run all of the events! Everyone at BendFilm has different areas of focus or interest, but we’re all passionate about independent film.” 

@bendfilmfestival is now recognized by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences® as one of 64 film festivals in the world (27 festivals in the USA) that is Oscar® qualifying for short films! 

Hanna’s advice to undergrads? “It's okay not to know what you want to do. Testing out different jobs and cities is a great place to start.”
