The Cinema Studies major is distinctive in its integration of critical study and creative production and its strength in global cinemas. Because cinema is inherently multidisciplinary, the major spans the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Architecture and Allied Arts, and the School of Journalism and Communication. As a result, it includes a diverse array of courses in history, criticism, and aesthetics as well as in digital production.
To continue learning outside the classroom, we sponsor original programming and collaborate with other departments and organizations in supporting media studies events. Financial assistance is not always available, but the program can offer support by publishing your event on our social media sites.
Event Support Requests:
Please complete and submit the Event Support Request Form, at minimum, two weeks in advance of your event. You will be notified of the results of your support request as soon as possible.
