Study Cinema and Media in Siena, Italy with UO Cinema Studies Associate Professor Sergio Rigoletto
This study abroad program is designed for students who want to immerse themselves in Cinema Studies in Italy. In this 10-week program, students will take two courses on neorealist cinema and on gender and sexuality in Italian film and media. The program also includes field trips and visits to Venice, Rome and Florence.
Siena is a beautiful, vibrant university town in Tuscany–close to Florence: the perfect place to experience medieval and modern Italian culture, food, and art. The Geo Center is located in the 19th century Palazzo Bargagli, within the medieval city walls.

About Cinema Studies in Siena, Italy Study Abroad:
You will attend courses in a 19th century building in the city center of Siena. Located just 35 miles from Florence, Siena is a beautiful medieval town that is home to more than 20,000 students each year. The program fee includes excursions, many other group cultural activities, full on-time support and a program orientation.
Cinema Studies Courses:
- Neorealist Cinema
- Gender and Sexuality in Italian Cinema and Media
The two, 4-credit courses help satisfy Core C Requirements for UO CInema Studies majors. All majors are welcome, and no course prerequisites are required.
