Award-winning documentary screening: "I Live for Art"

Date:
Nov 30, 2015 (All day)

I Live for Art, an award-winning documentary featuring Orchestra Next’s Conductor and UO Professor Brian McWhorter

Join Maestro Brian McWhorter in this special screening of the award-winning documentary on the creative process by filmmakers Ri Stewart and Renee Ananda (bluedot productions). The film follows Brian while he designs, creates and installs his first sculpture - The Extract-o-Rama - a machine that he hopes will make the creative process a little less annoying. The Extract-o-Rama was commissioned in 2011 by Opus VII for the exhibit Designing Sound and was curated by Cindy Ingram. Along the ride, other artists and philosophers join the conversation, including UO Professor Emeritus Amit Goswami, Michael Meade, Eliot Rasenick, Mark Gould and others. I Live for Art was the recipient of the Silver Award at the 2014 Philadelphia International Film Festival and was awarded Best Documentary (Biographical) at the 2014 Oregon Independent Film Festival.
