Looking for Short Screenplays

University of Oregon students are invited to submit screenplays to be produced by students in a CINE spring term course! Selected screenplays will be screened during the Cinema Studies end-of-the-term showcase.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Completed 10-page short screenplay and/or 5-15 page shorts
  • Stories that can be shot in and around campus and Eugene
  • All screenwriters will retain first-position screenplay credit. Revisions may be made for creative and practical reasons; therefore, additional writing credits may be included in the final produced shorts.
  • Drafts need to be sent in Final Draft. (Note: Free trials of Final Draft are available to convert existing files).

How to Submit:

  • Deadline to submit a screenplay is March 1, 2024
  • Email screenplay submissions to CINE Career Instructor Alissa Phillips at alissap@uoregon.edu.
  • Students will be notified if their screenplay is selected, are welcome to visit the sets during production, and are invited to the final showcase event at the end of spring term.
