The student Lab Monitor works in the Cinema Studies Lab located in 267 Knight Library. Their primary duties are managing the lab space and providing assistance for students using computers during open lab times. The Lab Monitor’s other responsibilities include routine cleaning and disinfecting of the space, trouble shooting computer issues, interpreting policies, assisting students with production software, and other routine duties.

"UO Presents" holds film screenings during winter term

UO Presents offers films through a critical lens of film viewership and creation; it is our aim to deliver a varied selection of genres, directors, eras, subject matters, moments in film history, and world perspectives, with the purpose of connecting the film-enjoying community and increasing film literacy and understanding campus wide. 

Ari Purnama, assistant professor of Cinema Studies at the University of Oregon, talks about growing up in Indonesia and what led to his interest in film studies and filmmaking. He discusses his approach to his scholarship as well as his practice as a filmmaker. Purnama recommends a film that he finds especially interesting.

Space is still available in the following Winter Term 2022 Cinema Studies courses: CINE 198: Wrk Post-Production Workflow; CINE 270: Introduction to Narrative Cinema Production; CINE 320: Beginning Screenwriting; CINE 399: Sp St Middle Eastern Cinema; and CINE 410: Transnational Cinematography.
