Cinema Studies Welcomes Emily Cornell

Cinema Studies Curriculum and Business Coordinator

Emily Cornell"My name is Emily Cornell, and I’m coming on board as your new Curriculum and Business Coordinator in the Department of Cinema Studies.  I’m excited to join the Cinema Studies team and look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you!  I know I have big shoes to fill now that Kay is retiring, but I’ll do my best.

I have been working on campus since 2005, most recently as a Student Services Coordinator in the College of Education for the last 12 years.  I am familiar with campus and love being a Duck!  I am also a UO alumni…  I graduated in 1997 with a degree in Business Administration.

Since my time as a student, I have lived in a few different towns (Boulder, CO; Santa Barbara, CA; and Monterey, CA) and done some traveling around the U.S., as well as around Western Europe.  I do love living here in Eugene, where you can most likely find me on long walks around town (I like to get my steps in!), down at the Saturday Farmer’s Market, at a local brewery enjoying a tasty beverage, at the library or a book store, watching Portland Trail Blazer games (or other sporting events for that matter – refer back to the tasty beverage reference), or binge watching whatever TV show I’m into at the moment (OK, maybe you wouldn’t find me there because I would be on my couch and that would be weird! Lol).  I would like to start watching more movies in the theater, rather than RedBox…so please give me your recommendations!

Please stop by the Cinema Studies office anytime to introduce yourself…and Go Ducks!"
