Avid Media Composer 7.0

Cine 425 / CRN 47773 / 4 credits

Media Composer is one of the most commonly used non-linear editing softwares in both the film and television industries.

This hands-on class will introduce beginning and intermediate editors to Avid’s Media Composer software.  In this class, students will develop and refine efficient editing techniques by using tools such as trimming and media management.  Students will also explore the numerous features in Media Composer, such as: color correcting, multilayer effects, re-timing, and audio effects just to name a few.

Become an Avid Certified User

At the end of the course, students will take the Media Composer Certified User Exam, potentially earning an Avid Certified User credential.

Gender & Sexuality in European Cinema

This course examines questions of gender and sexuality within the transnational and national contexts of Europe, including its diverse cinematic landscapes, traditions, and star imagery. Through readings and film screenings we will discuss a range of topics and genres, including: cinematic depictions of sexuality within the aristocracy and royalty, cinematic portrayals of both traditional and transformative gender roles, the role of twentieth century New Wave movements and aesthetics, and the changing dynamics of gender and sexuality in twenty-first century European cinema.  Satisfies Arts & Letters (A&L); Identity, Pluralism & Tolerance (IP)
