CINE Community Message from Dept. Head Professor Ovalle

Hello, Cinema Studies majors!

Hello, everyone. I'm Professor Ovalle, Department Head of Cinema Studies. I just wanted to let you know that your well-being is a key concern of our faculty and staff. For these reasons and more, we are currently working hard to prepare for remote learning in early spring. I do, however, want to acknowledge that this is a stressful time and that the first few weeks of spring will undoubtedly present challenges as we all juggle new demands with concerns about our loved ones and more.

I want to reassure you that Cinema Studies faculty and staff are committed to supporting your health and educational success during these uncertain times. This is the time for all of us to be as generous and as kind as possible to one another, and the Cinema Studies faculty are keeping this goal front and center as we prepare for the coming weeks.

I look forward to reconnecting with everyone in real life as soon as possible. Until then, our goal is to make the best of a difficult situation by cultivating a strong, *virtual* Cinema Studies community connection.

Please look for updates from the Cinema Studies office and faculty in the coming days and weeks.

Until then, on behalf of all of us in Cinema Studies, I wish you the very best.

Sincerely,

professor ovalle.
