Eugene Film Society 72-Hour Horror Competition

Eugene Film Society Presents:  The 6th Annual 72 Hour Horror Film Competition

From Thursday, October 18 through Sunday, October 21, regional filmmakers are invited to compete and produce the best 2 - 3 minute horror film within 72 hours, incorporating a mandated line of dialogue and prop. Films submitted by deadline will be screened by a jury of media professionals and a public audience at Ragozzino Performance Hall on the LCC Campus on Sunday, October 28th. The film selected "Jury Award" winner will receive a $1134 cash prize, and the film voted "Audience Award" winner at the screening event will receive a $666 cash prize.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:  All competing teams must register by 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

Pre-register at http://broadwaymetro.com/?page_id=2665.

After registering, filmmakers will attend the competition kick-off event at The Barn Light Cafe & Bar downtown on Thursday, October 18th from 6:00pm-8:00pm where they will be notified of the mandated line of dialogue and prop, and issued a USB drive.  This is a casual drop-in event, so filmmaking teams can sign in and dive right into the creative process (perhaps while enjoying a tasty beverage).

Completed films must be returned on the issued USB drive at The Barn Light Cafe & Bar downtown between 6:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, October 21st.  Films submitted by deadline, and meeting all specifications and guidelines, will be screened publicly at Ragozzino Performance Hall on the LCC Campus on Sunday, October 28th at 7:00pm. Audience members at the screening event will be invited to vote for their favorite film and determine the 2017 "Audience Award" winner.  Tickets for the screening event will be available at discounted prices at the wrap event, and will go on sale to the general public the next day.

Both the "Jury Award" and "Audience Award" winners will be announced at the competition screening, along with awards for excellence in several categories, with prize packages provided by Epic Seconds, Café Yumm, Blunt Graffix, Broadway Metro, American Traditional Barbershop and more!

Additional support for this event comes from LCC Media Arts, University of Oregon Cinema Studies, and Mark & Joy Gall.
