Find Your Voice as a Filmmaker

Learn from filmmaker, film critic, and festival programmer Kent Jones

Cinema Studies is excited to once again offer the "Art of Directing" course during spring term 2019. This class focuses on the building blocks to develop a narrative director’s voice. Taught by instructor Masami Kawai, students will explore how to create compelling characters and use the power of cinematic language to affect audiences. The award-winning filmmaker Kent Jones will guest teach four classes. 

This spring term course is open to Cinema Studies majors, and registration requires instructor approval, prerequisites, and completion of the online application.  More information about the class and a link to the application is available on the website.
