Join us for a talk with David Waingarten, Creative Director-Storytelling, and UO alum Daniel Meyers, Creative Director-Environments, from Second Story Interactive Studios, as they discuss creating the award-winning displays for the UO Ford Alumni Interpretive Center and their vision for the future of digital media. Learn how the collaboration between filmmaking and architecture combines to create innovative media.

David Waingarten – Creative Director, Storytelling

David’s extensive storytelling background draws on his experiences as a feature filmmaker, musician, editor, and writer. As Creative Director, David works with clients to develop high-level narrative and storytelling strategies that capture the heart and DNA of studio projects, laying the foundations for engaging, intuitive, and inspirational visitor experiences. David ensures that the core creative and narrative goals of a project are met, from early concepts through installation. He leads team members across disciplines, guiding the creative force within the studio and inspiring excellence and laughter.

Daniel Meyers, AIA – Creative Director, Environments

Daniel is responsible for the environmental and physical design efforts of the studio. He oversees the creative development and execution of environments-focused projects, leading integrated multidisciplinary project teams. Daniel is a registered architect in the state of Oregon, with a background in the design of experience and narrative-driven responsive environments. He works closely with clients and collaborators to create projects that join design, technology, and content seamlessly and with one voice. Daniel holds an M.Arch from the School of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon, and a BA in English Literature from Reed College.
