Gift opens doors for Cinema Studies students
Read an excellent article in Oregon Outlook about a generous gift from Dave & Nancy Petrone to the Cinema Studies program to support the Working Filmmaker Series, which provides a unique opportunity for students to learn what it takes to make a living in the cinema industry.
Associate Professor Brian McWhorter is also featured in the article. McWhorter composed and arranged a new score for a live performance during the screening of Ed’s Coed, a 1929 silent film. McWhorter recently spoke with students about composing and performing music for media as part of the ongoing Working Filmmakers Series.
