Michael Bendixen is the Award-winning Senior Cinematographer and Editor at Oregon Public Broadcasting and National PBS.  He is also an alumni of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication.  He studied journalism and science at the University of Oregon and the University of Hawaii. Here at Oregon, he produced award-winning documentary films in the School of Journalism and Communication Documentary Production classes. These films helped prepare him for his distinguished career in the field.  As a UO student, Michael’s life-long love of documentary storytelling, cinematography, and the environment were the hallmarks of his work and life-- and they continue to be so today. Michael has worked for Oregon Sea Grant and NOAA and is passionate about shooting in inclement weather, hanging off rock walls, and going deep underwater. Michael's an avid mountaineer, rock climber, scuba diver, river rafter, snow camper, and surfer. Michael's credits include "Thin Ice:Exploring Mt. Hood's Glacier Caves," "Discovering Valhalla: Oregon's Hidden Gorge," "Elk at Mt. St. Helens," "Treeverse," PBS Nova, "Mt.St. Helens Back from the Dead," PBS History Detectives, and many many more films and television productions.
