Alumni & Friends

The Cinema Studies Program, launched in January 2010, has increased from 58 students to over 300 declared majors. Our program, one-of-a-kind between the Bay Area and Vancouver B.C., gives students the richness of a liberal arts education in a major public research university while supplementing history and theory with practical production skills.

Accompanying the growth in the curriculum is our goal to enrich the student’s experience and growth by providing programming with alumni and industry professionals. Our ability to serve them is limited only by our resources.

One of the programs the program launched is the Working Filmmakers Series that provides an opportunity for students to interact with a wide range of industry professionals, from animators and cinematographers to directors and producers.

As major sponsors of the Cinema Pacific Film Festival, we host the festival’s annual Adrenaline Film Project, an intensive narrative film competition in which UO students and local filmmakers write, shoot, and edit their films in just 72 hours.

Alumni Are Our Most Precious Resource
